Matthew López, 48, born in Florida, author and director, became known in German-speaking countries through another play: «The Legacy», which was one of the most performed international plays in recent years. It is about a gay couple in the last days of the Obama administration who find themselves challenged by different politics, generational issues, but also still by the legacy of AIDS. López has also produced a highly successful film, which he wrote and directed: «Red, White & Royal Blue» has a beautiful plot about a love story between the son of an American president and a prince of the British royal family – a story that López is currently working on continuing with a second part.
